About Us
Discover the Credit Union Difference
Credit unions are not banks; they are not-for-profit financial cooperatives. We were founded to serve our members - not to make a profit. As a member you have equal ownership and one vote. Your board members are volunteers and all earnings are returned to the members as lower loan rates, higher dividends and lower fees. We are Saratoga's credit union. Compare us to banks and you'll see the difference!
Our Vision
To make a meaningful difference in the financial well-being of a diverse membership and the communities we serve.
Our Mission
We strive for member satisfaction by operating with integrity, respect and compassion, for our members and staff.
Our Statement of Commitment
We are committed to doing the right thing for our members and employees. Our decisions and actions are based on keeping us actively engaged in, and supportive of, the communities we serve.

It was 1945 when a small group of teachers came together to form Saratoga Teachers Federal Credit Union as a way to help other teachers save money and borrow confidently. The big banks lacked the service that teachers needed, so they took matters into their own hands by establishing a local credit union.
In its early years, the credit union’s physical location could be found in an area set aside by the Saratoga Springs City School District or sometimes even in the basement of a Board Director’s home. The 1980’s saw the purchase of a more permanent physical location at 23 Division Street, Saratoga Springs in order to better serve our members.
Throughout the years the credit union has grown to serve the entire county of Saratoga, providing fair loans and affordable banking options.
A lot has changed in the past 70 years, especially when it comes to technology. Few may recall a time when the credit union did not have cash on hand and issued counter checks for withdrawals. Or a time when you had to visit the branch just to get an account balance. Your credit union has always realized the importance of changing with the world around us and has implemented banking technology as it has evolved.
It is important to us that technology is used to enhance the personal banking experience. Give us a call or drop by to learn about how our electronic services can make your finances easier to manage.
